Boolarra, stony (Bl,st)
The Boolarra, stony mapping unit occurs in the Boolarra area, north of Tyers. These soils are characterised by the subsurface containing substantial amounts of waterworn quartz gravel. There is also a clear boundary between the surface soil and the subsoil clay and it is likely that they would be classified as yellow KUROSOLS (stony).
