The Jamieson Landscape Zone is mainly contained within the Highlands – Northern Fall bioregion with the remainder falling in the Victorian Alps bioregion. Many of the pre-1750 EVCs are still represented in the Jamieson Landscape Zone, largely due to the rugged terrain of the alpine environment seen in the State Forest and the Alpine National Park. The predominant EVCs are Montane Dry Woodland, Montane Damp Forest, Subalpine Woodland, Herb-rich Foothill Forest and Damp Forest. Jamieson Landscape Zone has very high biodiversity values and contains the only major representation of alpine biodiversity within the Upper Goulburn zones. The zone includes important populations of Purple Eye-bright, Barred Galaxias, Leadbeater’s Possum, Mountain Pymgy Possum, Spotted Tree Frog, Smoky Mouse, Squirrel Glider and Warty Bell Frog. Threats occurring in the Jamieson Landscape Zone include future Alpine Resort development, hardwood production and introduced weeds.
